Employment Legislation

  • Understand the main provisions of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 and the impact on processing payroll
  • Understand the main provisions of the Payment of Wages Act 1991 and the impact on processing payroll.
  • Understand the main provisions of the Redundancy Payments Act 1967-2014 and the impact on processing payroll.
  • Understand the main provisions of the Paternity leave Act 2016 and the impact on processing payroll.

In order to obtain certification it is necessary to undertake a computerised assessment on Day 5 / Evening 10 of the course. The duration of this is 2 hours and will assess the computerised component of the course.

A manual assessment will be undertaken as a project/case study which can be completed at home and must be submitted at the end of the course.

Upon successful completion of this course learners will be awarded QQI Certificate Level 6, component module 6N4005
